You can prevent users from accessing specific files and folders. You can also control whether they can print, download or edit these items.
Setting access restrictions on a computer
- Go to Ruby Datum > Documents
- Click the information icon next to the item you want to restrict.
- Click to expand User Permissions section > Edit Permissions.
- Check Restrict folder / document to selected users.
- Select each user who should have access to the item.
- Determine the level of access they should have (i.e. can view, can upload, can edit).
- Click Save.
You can apply access restrictions in bulk by going to Manage Users > Settings > User Permissions.
Setting access restrictions on mobile or tablet
- Go to Ruby Datum > Documents.
- Tap on the information icon next to the item you want to restrict.
- Tap to expand the Permissions section > Edit Permissions.
- Check Restrict folder / document to selected users.
- Select each user who should have access to the item.
- Determine the level of access they should have.
- Tap Save.
If you restrict access to a folder, any subfolders will inherit the same restrictions.
Who can restrict access to files and folders?
Administrators can set restrictions for all files and folders. They cannot be restricted from any items by fellow administrators.
