Administrators have the ability to create new sites. If you do not have this ability, it has not been enabled. Please contact us for further information.
Create a site on a computer
- Go to Ruby Datum > Admin > Manage Sites. Or the "Switch site" button at the top of the page
- Click Add site.
- Complete all relevant fields and click Save. (see New Site Form below)
- Use Switch site to access this new site.
Create a site on mobile or tablet
- Go to Ruby Datum > Admin & Export.
- Tap User Accounts > Manage Sites.
- Tap the Add icon in the top-right corner> Add site.
- Complete all relevant fields and tap Save. (see New Site Form below)
- Use Switch Site to access this new site.
New Site Form
Site Name: e.g. Project or Business Name.
Domain: the web address for the new site. By default it must end in .rubydatum.com.
Default restrictions on folders: The default restrictions for all folders when first created, which can be changed anytime after the folder is created.
- Unrestricted – All users can view all folders by default
- Top Level - All folders at the TOP LEVEL only are restricted by default. You can set access to individual user/group permissions later.
- Restricted - All folders are restricted by default. You can set access to individual user/group permissions later
Can add new sites: allows you to create further sites that sit below this one.
Enable Questions and Answers: optional module where users can ask questions, relate documents to questions and reply to other users questions (dependent on permissions).
Parent Site: Select an existing site to be the parent.
First page on login: what users see after logging in and accepting any user terms.
Permissions set by: set whether permissions are set on a single user basis or a group basis.
Email from name: all sites can send out automatic emails, such as new document alerts. This allows you to specify who these emails are from.
Highlight colour: Choose the colour for icons and text when highlighted/selected.
Bar colour: Choose the colour for the top bar. Also used in forms.
Mark as template: Select to make this site's settings, documents, custom fields, user groups & custom terms available as a template to use when creating new sites.
Use template: Select to choose an existing site template and choose which options you'd like to clone from the template for the new site.
